I headed downtown to do my first ever senior pictures shoot with Chaz and his enthusiastic family in tow. We had quite the entourage going up and down Merchant Street! Chaz loves music and we had almost convinced him to bring his guitar for the shoot, but he left it at home last minute. Fortunately, he did bring his girlfriend, who could get him to smile in half a second flat — CC

doris? a bridezilla? no way, jose! keao says, in the weeks leading up to his big day.. his sweet, thoughtful wife-to-be turned into a BRIDEZILLA!! we find that.. a little hard to believe. doris is the sweetest thing, and on her wedding day.. she was cool as a cucumber, probably the most content and mellow bride we’ve ever seen! we’re so stoked that their same-day edit totally mirrored the feel of their wedding day: fun… lighthearted… memorable!  just as they wanted =). we love you guys! -KA

I loved it when Kelli and Nick asked if their little son Keanu could be a part of their engagement shoot. They make an adorable family, and it was such a pleasure to be a part this little family’s big day. The skies lightly sprinkled on and off before the ceremony, but there were always enough pauses to get some shooting time in   –CC

if you pinned us down and asked us “what was your all-time most favorite wedding to film?” — we’d say…

…well, we’d say… “we CAN’T say, of course! that just wouldn’t be fair!” but, minh-han and reff’s wedding was definitely among the top!

we met minh-han and reff through another ARIA couple, aggie and jon. they asked us if we could film their wedding in napa… we started counting down the days!

it was any cinematographers dream. the natural beauty.. the temperature… the atmosphere.. was amazing. but, more than that… minh-han + reff and their family and friends were a BLAST! they are fun, sweet, and so super thoughtful (they even sent a welcome goodie bag to our hotel and gave us presents to take home!).

we could have been anywhere… and we would have LOVED their wedding just the same. being in beautiful napa.. was just yummy butter cream frosting on top of the cake! =)  –KA

when lauren was little — she and her best friend made a list of all the guys they wanted to date. on the very top of lauren’s list was matt… her childhood crush that she would eventually marry.

lauren and matt are adorable… and soooooo stinkin’ cute together. when you look at them, you just want to say ‘awwwww!!’ they started dating in high school, and wanted to get married in front of their family and friends — before starting their new life in california. we are so totally honored to be a part of their special day!

if you know theCREW — chances are, you already know john. john first joined us as an intern at the beginning of the year, and quickly became a key member of the ARIA family.

we love john because he is goofy, witty, and full of awesome energy (not to mention, he introduces us to all the coolest youtube viral videos). but he is also a huge ball of awesome talent.

john has a photo background, with an incredible pool of technical knowledge (just ask him about the mathematical equations of f-stops) — but he instantly fell in love with cinema and storytelling. today, our star intern turned superstar shooter doubles as a photographer and cinematographer.

we are so, incredibly stoked to have john (officially) part of our team. stay tuned for much, much more from john!!

what can i say about noele and mark?! there is just TOO MUCH. noele and mark came to us over a year ago with their (or should i say mark’s) over-the-top ideas for their photo and cinema and super duper contagious excitement and energy. we were rolling on the floor laughing about nonsense for about two hours the very first time we met. love at first meeting. over the last year… we did a series of e-shoots… got to know them… their family/friends… and put together a super fun love story. their wedding was stunning. everything about it.

our most favorite part about what we do, is getting to know our couples and building lifelong relationships. mark and noele are perfect examples — and they will always be ARIA family. just three days after their wedding, they served as guest judges for this year’s Project: ARIA. it was a blast! we’ll miss you mark and noele!! all the best to your new life together in the windy city!!  –KA
