There are some things in life that are plain hard to describe :
–The feeling after being told that you just ate some fresh wild rodent meat with the vegetable stew you thought was (and probably still is) delicious while visiting a distant hill tribe.
–Going to a highly recommended buffet restaurant in middle of the city and seeing baskets of various fried beetles and worms between the sushi section and the salad bar. (But of course. I mean, where ELSE would they be?)
–And…True Love.
We at Aria Studios have been so privileged to be able to meet and work with so many special couples. It has been a joy and an honor to be a part of your lives. But while the love on a wedding day stands as being so incredibly significant, it is nearly impossible to describe the love we have seen and experienced working with the children, staff and volunteers at ZOE Childrens Homes in Chiang Mai, Thailand (http://zoechildren.org/)
My ability to articulate feelings and thoughts fails as I sit attempting to capture even a portion of our experience here. We have seen first hand walking the streets of Thailand where these children would likely end up were it not for the intervening efforts of all here at ZOE. The abuse of children who are trafficked is at once disheartening, shocking, infuriating and tearful. But the joy of the children we have seen here is visible throughout their whole being. Their eyes literally shine bright. The only words I can think of at this moment are True and Love. True Love.
In all of my life experiences, I have never before seen the face of God so clearly as I do on the faces of the children here. You may think that I am exaggerating. In truth, I wish I could overstate it–but I just can’t.
There’s a verse in the Bible that says this : But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” (Matthew 19:14)
While it goes on to tell us to meet Him like a little child, the children at ZOE have done exactly that.
The result?
A perfectly composed, clearly focused, color balanced picture of True Love.
While we can’t recreate that picture accurately here, we do have a few digital snapshots showing life along the way.
